The young Altmühl - RV tour Altmühltal Part 1 - From the source to the Altmühlsee We begin our RV tour through the Altmühltal on the Frankenhöhe. It should be the start of a wonderful tour along the almost 230 kilometer long river from the Altmühl source to the mouth in Kehlheim. First of all, we set out to find the source of the Altmühl, not that easy because there are many candidates. From the Hirschteich we go to the Hohnauer Weiher and further along the young Altmühl to Herresried and Leutershausen. We reach the Altmühlsee via the St. Salvator church ruins. The Altmühltal RV tour On the RV tour through the Altmühltal we want to follow the Altmühl from the source to the mouth. We start our tour looking for the actual source, which is not that easy, and spend the first night on the beautiful, quiet parking space in Burgbernheim. We take a leisurely ride through the beautiful region of the young Altmühl, then into the much deeper valley of the middle Altmühl and into the most famous section of the lower Altmühl. Our motorhome tour ends in Kehlheim, where the Danube and the Altmühl flow together. A varied tour lies ahead of us, offering many exciting places and sights. The entire journey is around 230 kilometers long.
