A newsletter from me, Abdulrahman Abu Maleh, and the Fنجان team, for the podcast’s close audience. https://thmanyah.link/3c5e87 Who are the Jews? What do they believe? What is their relationship with Muslims? What is the difference? The dispute between Jews and Muslims is completely different from the dispute with Christians. This episode is about Jews and their understanding, from their origins until their occupation of Palestine, why did they choose Palestine? How did Zionism originate? With my guest, Dr. Fawzi Al-Badawi, Professor of Jewish Studies and Head of the Department of Comparative Religions at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in Tunis. Jews have thousands of studies and research on Arabs and Muslims, but we only have a few centers that can be counted on one hand that study Jews and Israel. Fawzi says: “When the Arabs wanted to understand Judaism after the 1967 war, they revived the old debate between Islam and Judaism in the Middle Ages. But what the Arabs did not realize is that Israel after 1967 was radically different from the ancient Jewish entities.” During the episode, I discovered that Israel has no constitution and no borders. And that the origin of Zionism is Christianity, and that it began as a state completely separate from religion, and today it is at the peak of the intersection of nationalism and religion. My guest emphasizes the importance of studying the Jews, saying: “We cannot understand what happened since 48 and 67 without understanding the emergence of the Zionist movement. Also, the emergence of the Zionist entity requires Arabs and Muslims to understand these developments in a scientific way,” claiming that if Arabs do not understand them, this will have dire consequences for their existence!
