The piston is stuck in the caliper or won't retract. Shown in detail at this link • HOW THE PISTON SHOULD WORK IN THE CALIPER... 2. The guide is stuck in the caliper 3. The pad gets stuck in the plates 4. The handbrake cable is stuck in the casing 5. The rubber brake hose has swollen inside. Note BMW e87 and e90 have 2 flexible brake hoses in the rear. One at the caliper and the other at the rear sled. The cause may be the internal one at the sled and not the external one at the caliper 6. damaged ABS pump, which does not return brake fluid and the caliper piston does not retract 7. damaged yoke, bent 8. bearing, has play, buzzes 9. poorly dimensioned caliper does not fit between the external yoke and the disc after installing the pads. filing down these contact points helped 10. new caliper found. If the cause is only and exclusively a swollen hose, after unscrewing the bleeder the wheel will start to work easily. #generalcartips
