Yoshinari Ishimura (a resident of Niihama City, Ehime Prefecture), who is popular for his colorful animal paintings, has blossomed into a talented artist while facing the obstacles of autism. What kind of therapeutic education led him to become who he is today? [A film about Yoshinari Ishimura] RSK 70th Anniversary Film "Niihama Hikari Monogatari: Blue Lion" Pre-release at TOHO Cinemas Niihama (Ehime) from 10/18! From 11/8 Okayama Melpa (Okayama) From 11/8 Hall Soleil (Kagawa) From 11/15 Ikebukuro Cinema Rosa (Tokyo) From 11/15 Kino Cinema Kobe International (Hyogo) and other locations nationwide! "Please raise him gently and with care, so that he doesn't cry." He felt a sense of discomfort from the words he had heard repeatedly at the therapeutic facility he had relied on until then... Ishimura's parents visited the Tomoni Rehabilitation Center when Yoshinari was two years old. Director Junko Kawashima gave guidelines such as "Parents should not be controlled by their children's 'crying'. Parents should lead their children," "If treatment is provided with knowledge and love, the disorder will improve," and "Don't scold, don't get angry, and make them do what is necessary without giving in," and asked parents to be prepared to work on treatment. Eventually, Yukiko, the mother, became a treatment provider who faced her child with determination, and Yoshinari tried to respond to her. Kawashima's treatment is based on her own experience raising her own autistic child. Born in Kasaoka City, Kawashima went on to Asahi High School and Okayama University Medical School, where she became a pediatrician. She got married and was blessed with children, but regretted that she had been so busy with work that she had put off raising her child, and when she became pregnant with her third child, she decided to prioritize childcare. Takahiro, who was born, was autistic. Kawashima decided to give up her job as a doctor and devote the rest of her life to Takahiro's treatment. Seeing that he was weak, the two of them walked in the mountains every day to build up his strength, used handmade teaching materials to gain knowledge and stimulate his brain, and taught him dressmaking to gain a trade. The Tomoni Therapeutic Education Center was founded in the hope that parents raising children with autism could make use of this experience. In this program, we will be following Yamamoto Moeko, who overcame obstacles with Tomoni's therapeutic education and became a world-famous para-athlete. We will be following people living in Kawashima's world of therapeutic education, including a mother and child who have just started therapeutic education at Tomoni.
