[About Ishihatooka Kagura] Hayachine-dake-ryu Ishihatooka Kagura is a kagura dedicated to Komagata Shrine, located in the Oyamada district of Towa-cho, Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture. It is a kagura that descends from Hayachine-dake Kagura, and according to legend, it was established in Bunka 2 (1805). [About this video] Hayachine-dake-ryu Ishihatooka Kagura and Hayachine-Omane-ryu Tsuchizawa Kagura were selected as "intangible folk cultural properties for which measures such as record creation should be taken" by the government on March 9, 2011. This is based on the Cultural Properties Protection Act, and the Commissioner of the Agency for Cultural Affairs selects intangible folk cultural properties other than those designated by the government as important intangible folk cultural properties that are particularly in need of recognition. For the selected cultural properties, investigations, record creation, and public disclosure will be carried out. The Hanamaki City Board of Education has created this video to promote the recording of both kagura through video, ensure reliable record preservation, and promote the spread of both kagura and increase understanding of kagura.
