The simplest foundation solution would be to arrange a pile-screw foundation. But a support-columnar foundation will cost twice as cheap and you can make it completely on your own with your own hands. The point of a shallow support-columnar foundation is to remove heaving soil from its base by replacing it with a drainage layer of crushed stone and compacted sand. Theoretically, this will eliminate possible vertical movements of the structure as a result of seasonal freezing of the soil and, as a consequence, its heaving.
