Mindungsan is 1,119m above sea level and is a refreshing mountain with green pampas grass meadows spreading out from the 7th ridge. It is usually known as a mountain of autumn pampas grass, but if you visit in the summer, the beautiful wild flowers and pampas grass create a beautiful landscape. However, since it was a summer hike, I didn't go on the representative course, Jeungsan Elementary School course, but rather the hike starting from Balgudeok. The hike starting from Balgudeok is a relatively short course, with a total distance of 1km, including 600m of forest road and 400m of mountain climbing, and can be reached in about 30 minutes. However, I only climbed 400m, which is shorter than that, to reach the summit. This is because I went hiking after driving on the forest road. It seems to be the best for summer hiking. The summer hike on Mindungsan, which is full of wild flowers on green hills, presented beautiful scenery. After the hike, the plan was to visit the summer Gobyeong Valley, which is recommended by Jeongseon-gun and various media outlets. According to Jeongseon-gun’s homepage, Gobyeong Valley is 3km long and gives a sense of the mystery of the ancient times, and the name comes from the fact that the mountain peaks that stretch up to the sky surround the valley like a folding screen. Gobyeong Valley is a place where clear water like a mirror flows down the rocks, forming beautiful scenery such as Halmi-so, Sadari-so, and Yongso, and all the worries of the world flow away with the water. The majestic peaks overlooking the valley look like a folding screen, and you can't help but admire the beautiful scenery of all kinds of trees lining the valley forming a long tunnel. The rocks in the valley are covered, so it's great for camping and playing in the water in the summer. I went there with high expectations because it was expressed like this on the Jeongseon-gun homepage. I also enjoyed this hike very much.
