The Abbasid call The Abbasid call is the period that preceded the establishment of the Abbasid state. The duration of this call was approximately 30 years or a little more. It was divided into two stages, secret and public. This call was during the period in which the Umayyad state ruled. The founder of the Abbasid call was Muhammad bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Abbas. The Abbasid call turned into the public stage with the death of the founder of the call, Muhammad bin Ali, and also after the spread of the weakness of the Umayyad state. The call was based on a religious basis, given that the Abbasids are related to the uncle of the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib, and this matter contributed to the success of the Abbasid call. The Abbasid call centers The Abbasid call took multiple centers of great importance for the call, as the centers were divided into three regions: Al-Hamimiyah in Jordan, Kufa in Iraq, and Khorasan. These centers had great symbolism for the Abbasids, as the choice of these centers was not random, but rather the choice was based on favorable circumstances for the Abbasid call, as the center of Al-Hamimiyah was the residence of the founder of the Abbasid call, Muhammad bin Ali bin Abbas, and the importance of the center of Al-Hamimiyah was that it was located on the Hajj route, which contributed to spreading the call among the Arab pilgrims. As for Kufa, it was a suitable center for the call, especially since the people of Kufa were angry with the caliphs of the Umayyad state and saw that their country was more deserving of the state’s centrality than the Levant and Damascus. As for the third center, Khorasan, it included the Arab fighters who were from the Umayyad army that settled in the state of Khorasan after it became a state affiliated with the Umayyad state, and these fighters were fed up with the policies of the governors in Khorasan, especially their influence with regard to Material aspects, and more importantly, the centers are far apart and Kufa is the link between the centers of Al-Hamimah and Khorasan.
