Residents of the village of Frantsevo in the Pervomaysky District have found themselves cut off from the rest of the world. Until recently, a narrow-gauge railway led to Frantsevo. Villagers would use it to travel to the neighboring village of Komsomolsk on homemade handcars to buy food and medicine. But the owner of the narrow-gauge railway, the Tomlesdrev group of companies, dismantled the railway because it was no longer needed. They promised to build a road on the site of the narrow-gauge railway, but the weather got in the way. In fact, today there is no road to Frantsevo, only a direction. Once a month, food, medicine, and pensions are brought from Komsomolsk to Frantsevo by tractor and cart. TV-2 journalists also set out on this desperate off-road journey. Author: Melanie Bachina, cameraman: Alexander Sakalov. TV2 is an independent media outlet. Financial independence is a guarantee of the absence of “custom-made” materials, censorship, but... a small and unguaranteed budget. This means that we must look for sponsors for TV2 expeditions.
