This NHTSA study found a 3% to 28% reduction in crash probability with amber turn signals, but there is a caveat that it may simply be due to the individual indicator and not the color: https://www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov... This study shows a significant reduction in brake light reaction time when the vehicle is equipped with amber turn signals. "The subject knew when to expect the red or orange signals."
