The beginning of the German Peasants' War in the Palatinate on the left bank of the Rhine is marked by the formation of the Nussdorfer Haufen near Landau on April 23, 1525. The Palatinate plundered several surrounding monasteries (including the Order of St. John's Commandery Heimbach near Zeiskam and Hördt, where the provost died) and castles before taking the town of Neustadt without a fight on May 6. The program of the peasants' hordes was based on the Twelve Articles, which were formulated in Memmingen and of which 25,000 copies were printed. We hope you enjoy!!! #nußdorf #pfalz #peasants'war
