The plane from New York lands at Munich-Riem airport. A strikingly attractive and tastefully dressed young lady gets off. Ines, who seems a little nervous and anxious, is met by a gentleman who is obviously trying to comfort her. From the hotel, Ines has an agitated conversation that is overheard by the telephone operator Philipp Hammelt. That evening, Philipp meets the same lady a second time. During a failed attempt to seduce his girlfriend Yvonne in the park of the old Harting castle, a shot is fired and a short time later, Philipp finds Ines' body.
