What are the relations between the Moon and the Earth? The Moon was born from the Earth, but from a painful birth. The Moon is the origin of the tides, but why two tides per day, when there is only one Moon? And the tides have other consequences than making the sea rise and fall in Brittany! The Moon is the cause of eclipses, phenomena, occasions for medieval fears in the middle of the 21st century. And then there are the countless superstitions, including its influence on childbirth. We will study the civil status which shows that the Moon does not influence births but which enlightens us on certain aspects of the medical and sexual mores of the French.
