http://www.entre-sambre-et-meuse.be The Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse Local Action Group has initiated a project to promote the Folk Marches. This folklore, a true intangible heritage, is very significant in the social and cultural life of this region. A large number of inhabitants live each year from May to October to the rhythm of fifes and drums. We met witnesses of the ESEM Marches: walkers, former walkers, wives, canteen workers, children. They all tell their stories and confide in us their experiences within this folklore. This work, lasting 2 years, carried out by the Walcourt cultural center in collaboration with the GSARA, based on interviews and in situ images, resulted in a series of 17 clips on the different themes that cross the Marches. A valuable tool to discover this folklore and these traditions in their diversity, their differences, their contradictions but also their richness.
