At just 13 years old, he joined the youth ranks of Esporte Clube Vitória, in Salvador, where he began to show signs of his unique talent. The promise he represented was clear: a boy from humble origins, with an immense passion for football and the potential to become a star. It was in this environment that Alex began to shape the style of play that would later make him famous. In 1992, at just 17 years old, he made his debut for Vitória’s professional team, and Brazilian football began to realize that it was in the presence of a new gem.
