SUMMARY: Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli arrive in Edoras and are stopped by the guards, who distrust them and especially Gandalf. After identifying themselves as friends of Éomer, they manage to get through, although they must leave their weapons at the entrance. Once inside, they are taken before King Théoden, who is weakened and aged, dominated by the malicious influence of Gríma Wormtongue. Gríma despises Gandalf and his companions, but Gandalf frees Théoden from the dark influence. The king regains his energy and lucidity, and under the guidance of Gandalf, decides to free his nephew Éomer, who had been imprisoned for opposing Gríma. Théoden begins to regain control of his kingdom and prepare to face the threat that lies ahead. #thelordoftherings #rohan #tolkien
