This is a new sixty-minute documentary. "Summer 1944, the dawn of Freedom" immerses you in the history of Operation Overlord, the Battle of Normandy until the liberation of Brittany and Paris. The 78 days that paved the way for the reconquest of France and Europe against Hitler's army. A documentary made from archive footage and testimonies collected over the decades by our local editorial staff. "These words, and the 70 hours of archive footage collected by Jack Auger, a Norman journalist who knows this period of history like the back of his hand, allowed us to tell the story of D-Day through those who lived it, and thus make this documentary a true story," explains Éric Bullet, deputy editor-in-chief of Ouest-France who supervised the project.
