According to the President's Decree on additional measures related to the construction of the Guba-Gonaqkend highway of Guba region, the reconstruction of the 46 km long highway connecting 66 settlements with 68,000 inhabitants has been completed. According to the information provided to "APA-Economics" by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Highways, the implemented large-scale road infrastructure project has led to the direct development of agriculture, tourism and industry in the region along with the provision of convenient movement of citizens, ease of cargo and passenger transportation. The Guba-Gonaqkend highway has been reconstructed according to the III and IV technical grade according to the relief of the area it passes through. Accordingly, the soil bed of the road is 12 and 10 meters, and the carriageway is 7 and 6 meters. Since the highway has been in operation for a long time without major repairs, the road surface and the base of the road, as well as the soil bed, have been washed away due to the influence of flood waters, bumps and depressions have formed on the roadway. For this reason, within the framework of the project, the existing cover was dismantled and moved aside, the unsuitable soil was excavated, replaced with suitable material and molded, in some places, the rock-type rocks of the mountain slopes were cut and removed to obtain the normative width of the road, and the soil bed was expanded and raised to the required height, the slopes of the bed were mechanically method smoothed. Along the road, 46 pieces of metal, asbestos and ferro-concrete drainage pipes of different diameters were installed and insulated. In addition, according to the requirements of the "Construction Norms and Rules", the construction of the foundation and the laying of the asphalt-concrete cover were carried out. For this purpose, the bottom and top layers of the base are built with crushed sand and optimal sand-gravel mixture, respectively. A new asphalt-concrete mixture with large and small grains was laid on the road with connecting bitumen. Expansion of the part of the highway passing through the steep rocks in Tangalti village was carried out. Road expansion works covered the 29-30 kilometer section of the Guba-Gonaqkend road. Due to building a dam in the river and cutting rocks, the road section was widened from 4 meters to 10 meters. Within the framework of the project, 3 bridges with 1 overpass, each 26 and 27 meters long, over small mountain rivers on the 35th, 36th and 41st km of the road, as well as 126 and 126 and 126 m respectively on the 43rd and 46th km of the road over Babachay and Cimichay New bridges with a length of 80 meters were built. Around both bridges, 280 and 160 meters long water regulating and shore strengthening reinforced concrete retaining walls were built, respectively. At the last stage of the project, which covers Amsar, Nugadi, Pustagasim, Gam-gam, Tangalti and other residential areas of Guba region, road signs were installed along the roads to organize the normal movement of motor vehicles, and modern road infrastructure was created by laying highway and pedestrian lines, as well as pedestrian lanes, and made them available to citizens. .
