Here is the profile and biography of KH Maimun Zubair (Mbah Moen). BIRTH Maimoen Zubair or who is usually called familiarly as Mbah Moen is the first son of the couple Kiai Zubair Dahlan and Nyai Mahmudah. He was born in Karang Mangu Sarang on Thursday Legi in the month of Sya'ban in the year 1347 H or 1348 H or October 28, 1928. From his grandfather's lineage, Mbah Moen's lineage goes back to Sunan Giri. Here is the lineage of Mbah Moen, KH. Zubair bin Mbah Dahlan bin Mbah Carik Waridjo bin Mbah Munandar bin Puteh Podang (Lajo Singgahan village, Tuban) bin Imam Qomaruddin (from Blongsong Baureno, Bojonegoro) bin Muhammad (White Tiger, Gresik) bin Ali bin Husen (Mentaras Dukun village, Gresik) bin Abdulloh (Karang Jarak village, Gresik) bin Prince Pakabunan bin Panembahan Kulon bin Sunan Giri. Meanwhile, from the lineage of my grandmother, namely, Nyai Hasanah binti Kiai Syu'aib bin Mbah Ghozali bin Mbah Maulana (Mbah Lanah was a Madurese noble who joined Prince Diponegoro's troops). Mbah Moen's father, Kiai Zubair, was a chosen student of Sheikh Sa'id Al-Yamani and Sheikh Hasan Al-Yamani Al-Makky. Both of these teachers were famous scholars in Yemen. From his father, he emulated firmness and steadfastness, while from his grandfather he emulated compassion and generosity. Compassion sometimes undermines firmness, humility is often at odds with firmness. However, in Mbah Moen's personality, all of that is synergized in a balanced way. The harshness of coastal life did not harden his attitude. He is a perfect picture of a polite and mature person. All of that is not a coincidence, because since early on he who lived in the pesantren tradition was raised directly by his own father and grandfather. In 2019 while performing the Hajj, on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 morning, KH. Maimoen Zubair passed away. He was buried in the Ma'la cemetery in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
