Small, cuddly and with oversized ears, donkeys take the hearts of children and adults by storm. Donkeys are hardly ever used as pure farm animals in Germany anymore and so in recent decades they have developed into a popular pet and playmate. The range of uses for donkeys is extensive and you can find them not only as companions for hiking groups, but also as therapy animals or riding animals. However, even today, dogmatic prejudices such as stubbornness and stupidity still cling to the long-eared animals.
