Mark Bohm gets into trouble when amateur sailor Fritz Werner accuses him of serving food contaminated with salmonella in his restaurant. The enterprising Brigitte Davis, who happens to witness this incident, sees her chance to get a cheap property to get into the restaurant business. She insidiously informs the newspaper about the unverified accusation, and the story is promptly printed the next day. As a result, Mark Bohm's guests dwindle. Meanwhile, country doctor Dr. Jan Bergmann looks after patient Werner, who has a high fever. During an examination on his yacht, Jan finds a bowl of chocolate mousse in the kitchen. Then Brigitte Davis floats into Mark Bohm's restaurant like an angel of salvation and makes him an offer to buy it. Maren and Jan realize that they have been seeing very little of their older son Florian at the moment. With his parents' permission, he runs an online shop for skateboards with his best friend Marko, the nephew of boat builder Christian Schulte. Instead of going to school, Florian invests all his time with great passion and talent in the production and design of the boards. When a respected American company is looking for interns, Marko and Florian want to apply for the places. However, Florian has not reckoned with Jan and Maren, who have found out from Erik that he is skipping school and is now in danger of failing. But Florian is fighting for his dream. His mother has completely different worries at the moment: In order to get her current business loan extended, Maren has to submit a business plan to the bank. Dr. Garcia has a patient in the clinic who has had hip surgery and whose daughter, Ursula Schneider, visits her every day. Mrs. Schneider seems very tense and exhausted. Leticia then sends Mrs. Schneider to Jan again, who is worried that the antibiotic he prescribed is not working.
