The conquest of the Canary Islands by Castile was a complex historical process that took place in three fundamental stages. The first phase, which began in the 14th century, was marked by the Norman expeditions that managed to subdue the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, El Hierro and La Gomera. Later, Castilian noble families consolidated Spanish rule over these islands. The third and final stage, during the reign of the Catholic Monarchs, focused on the conquest of the largest and most populated islands: Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma. In this video we analyse each of these phases, exploring the reasons, strategies and consequences of the Spanish conquest on the aboriginal population and the Canary Islands. 🔻TIP🔻 You may be interested in these videos related to this Chronicle. ▶ 📜BIBLIOGRAPHY ►Diario La Provincia.- Site forces us to rewrite the history of the Canary Islands.
