The king wants to get married, and on the advice of Duke Akilona, he decides to propose to the Hungarian princess Berta. The princess does have a beauty flaw - too big feet - but that matters little to Pippin. He rather remembers how he was friends with Berta as a little boy and even then he admired her bravery. So Duke Akilon goes to Hungary to ask the hand of Princess Berta for his king. However, he has his own plan, and he has no idea what will stop him.
