https://germanmotorkult.de/adac-oldti... - The Esperanto Hotel in the beautiful cathedral city of Fulda was the perfect home base for the 28th ADAC classic car rally of the ADAC Hessen-Thüringen eV. This two-day classic car rally led through the picturesque landscapes of the Rhön and Vogelsberg. The hotel's large event hall, in which the valuable classic cars were housed safely and securely, was particularly impressive. And this joie de vivre was really felt everywhere: participants in a good mood wherever you looked, smiling faces and delicious buffets from the welcome evening to the big gala evening. The well-organized lunch breaks and the daily finishes on Fulda's Pauluspromenade, directly opposite the cathedral, also contributed to the special atmosphere. Our video of the 2024 ADAC Oldtimer Rally is in production and will convey many impressions of this classic car rally. You can also find a detailed report on the event at www.germanmotorkult.de. After 28 years of the ADAC Oldtimer Rally, the team from the Frankfurt ADAC regional club has perfected the organization: excellent hotels, unique routes, the best entertainment and always enough oil reserves for the Yellow Angels' vehicles. They were on duty every day to be on site quickly in the event of any breakdowns and took loving care of the valuable vehicles. For example, a 911 was able to be made operational again with 6 liters of fresh oil after a previous check was not sufficient. No problem for the ADAC! The classic car tour was split into two groups: the athletes and the hikers. Both groups had a common goal: to experience classic car driving! The first day of the ADAC classic car tour Hesse-Thuringia led through the Rhön. Via Tann we went to Elisabethenburg Castle in Meiningen, Thuringia, for lunch. The vehicles were allowed to park in the castle courtyard while we ate à la carte in the castle parlor. On roads with little traffic we drove along the border of Thuringia and Hesse via Fladungen and the Wasserkuppe to our destination for the first day - the Pauluspromenade in Fulda. A special highlight in the afternoon was the drive through the town of Fladungen, where an "old DEA gas station" was presented and a gas station attendant cleaned the classic cars. On the second day the classic car tour led towards Vogelsberg. Unfortunately, this day was marked by heavy rain, but this also had a special charm. The rain bathed the special stages in a special light, which the photographers along the route used to take impressive souvenir photos. Take a look at the rain pictures on our website. Via Schlitz and Lauterbach we continued up to the highest mountain in the Vogelsberg, the Hoherodskopf. Completely caught in the fog, the view of the high tower there offered a special moment. The next special stage was waiting and the Schottenring! For lunch, Gedern Castle welcomed us with 50 additional vintage cars from another event. Around 130 vintage cars were able to take a seat in the castle park for a lunch break with a buffet. In the afternoon we returned to the Pauluspromenade in Fulda full of excitement. We were sporty and drove to target times with light barrier tests. While we made a few mistakes on the first day, things went much better on the second day. So we were excited about the awards ceremony in the evening. As we crossed the finish line in Fulda, God sent the sun back to us. Parking in the closed Pauluspromenade, all participants of the classic car rally were able to enjoy the beautiful Fulda around the cathedral and celebrate the arrival of all participants. The celebrations then continued until late in the evening at the gala dinner in the Hotel Esperanto. A great classic car rally was driven, many acquaintances and rally friends were met again, filmed and moderated and at the end of the day the 911 took home 1st place in the team nomination, 5th place in the automobile category and 5th place overall.
