The 2022 Golden Week will have two three-day weekends. However, if you take the Monday between the two three-day weekends off, you will have a seven-day holiday, and if you take the last three-day weekend and the Friday between Saturday and Sunday off, you will have a six-day holiday, and if you take Monday and Friday off, you will have a maximum of 10 days off. I don't care about that at all now, but in the old days, when I couldn't wait for Golden Week, my family and I often went to Ono, Matsutaka's hometown. When we got back, the first thing we did was visit the grave. For some reason, the route we took was different on the way there and back, and we walked along a set path from our house to the rice fields where lotus flowers were blooming, and we visited the grave while talking with everyone, offering candles, incense, flowers, a kettle of water, and a Buddhist bell. The children looked forward to fishing in the river and the game center at Jusco. Matsutaka often played shogi with his older brothers. The eldest son was strong against the second son, but weak against the third son. The second son is weak against the eldest and strong against the third. The third son, Matsutaka, is strong against the eldest and weak against the second. It was truly a three-way tie. I mostly cook in the kitchen. Whenever I went there, Matsutaka's mother would make sushi rolls by rolling up the ingredients she had prepared. This simple country-style sushi roll with freeze-dried tofu, dried gourd, a slightly sweet omelette, and cucumber was delicious. It was a nostalgic taste of my mother's cooking. So, how are you all going to spend this Golden Week? If you don't have any plans, please check out this YouTube video. Matsutaka is the travel guide (narrator). There are videos and photos inserted, so I think people from all over Japan other than Kansai, and even people overseas, will enjoy it.
