About :

A prototype of the T-240 tractor, which is equipped with an electromechanical transmission, was presented at an exhibition of agricultural machinery, equipment and spare parts on the territory of the State Unitary Enterprise "Bashselkhoztekhnika" in the city of Ufa in the spring of 2022. This tractor belongs to general-purpose agricultural tractors of the third traction class and is designed to perform a wide range of agricultural work on primary and pre-sowing soil cultivation, sowing and harvesting crops, transport and other work. The tractor is powered by a six-cylinder in-line turbocharged diesel engine CUMMINS QSB6.7 with a working volume of 6.7 liters and a rated power of 240 hp. Perhaps the main difference between this tractor and the tractors we are used to is that it does not have a gearbox. An electric generator is located immediately behind the engine. The traction electric generator has a rated power of 130 kW and a rated voltage of 540 V. If you look under the tractor, you can see another important feature - it has no drive axles, no cardans, no transfer case. Each wheel is driven by an individual mechatronic traction module, which consists of an electric motor and a planetary-type final drive.
