By restoring an old front door, you can not only save money, but also protect the environment by saving resources and reducing waste. Repair and functional test: The front door is checked for damage and, if necessary, defective parts such as wood, hinges or door handles are repaired and replaced. The doors are first checked for function (closing and opening) on the floor and in the door rebates. If the doors drag on the floor, they are cut off or planed with an appropriate gap. The gap in the surrounding door rebates is also adjusted. Cleaning: First, the door fittings are dismantled and specially cleaned. The surfaces and edges of the front door and parts are cleaned of old paint and varnish using an environmentally friendly paint removal solution. Sanding: The surfaces, edges, corners and profiles are then sanded using a delta and eccentric sander and/or by hand. Cleaning: All surfaces are vacuumed and cleaned dust-free using a suitable cleaning agent such as turpentine substitute. Insulation and soundproofing: If the door is not well insulated, seals can be replaced or additional insulation, e.g. double door and frame construction, can be added due to energy savings and thermal insulation. Surface treatment: For long-term protection, we only use very high-quality, durable, environmentally friendly paints and varnishes. The materials used are checked for sustainability and whether they are free of harmful chemicals. The corners, edges and surfaces are pre-painted once with a universal, solvent-based, satin-matt wood glaze for outdoor use. The product has very good weather resistance, is permeable to vapours and regulates moisture, and due to its higher solids content, it is environmentally friendly, sustainable and has a low odour and is not harmful to health due to the use of aromatic-free white spirit as a solvent. After drying for a day, intermediate sanding or cleaning and the second coat are applied. Assembly: Final assembly of the door fittings, the door hinges are greased and the doors are inserted and adjusted. Maintenance: Regular maintenance, care and cleaning are important to keep the door in good condition.
