The seventh episode of MF Cast is with Lucas Siqueira: agricultural technician, portrait artist, tomato grower and postgraduate in agribusiness. Originally from Minas Gerais, in the city of Delfim Moreira, Lucas says he was born and raised in the countryside. As a teenager, he knew he couldn't dream big, since his parents' reality didn't allow it. “The hoe was waiting for me,” he says. The result of generations of manual labor, when his turn came, he decided he would revolutionize his family's trajectory. It was then that he realized that “the pen is much lighter than the hoe” and decided that this wasn't what he wanted for his life. With an agricultural technician degree from the local college, he went in search of opportunities in the market and embraced an internship that would change his life. The producer says it was God who took the reins and led him to the opportunities he had, but he prepared himself a lot and was ready when they appeared. He also talks about his close relationship with God during his daily activities on the farm and his trust in Our Lady when he faced a family dilemma with his son. With great dedication, Lucas has been working with tomatoes for 19 years, also becoming a well-known influencer in the agribusiness industry. He is currently seeking training to share his knowledge with others in the area, giving lectures to train salespeople. “A single word from me can plant a good seed in someone,” he says. According to the producer, the market is going through a leadership crisis, crying out for good professionals. He says that the sector has plenty of opportunities, but many miss them because they are not prepared and have the will to succeed. During the podcast, Lucas gives tips for being successful in the sector, talks about the professional needs of the segment, and the importance of knowing how to deal with people when working in agriculture.
