Our Ford GPW is a military off-road vehicle of American production from World War II - commonly known as a jeep. Due to the volume of orders during the war, a second car manufacturer was necessary. The order was received by Ford, which was given free documentation from Willys on the condition that it would be produced exclusively for orders from the US government. The Ford GPW differed from the original only in minor details. Parts of both cars could be used interchangeably. A total of 361,349 Willys MBs and 277,896 Ford GPWs were produced. The car was used by all Allied forces during the war, and then also by civilian users in many countries.
