Narung in Tibetan means “wanting to become a monk”, meaning that all who enter this land wish to make a vow to Buddhism. Narung is located at an altitude of 4,100 meters above sea level. Long ago, this place was part of the Tibetan Plateau. Today, it is part of the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. However, Han people, other ethnic groups, and even people from other countries around the world still travel here to make pilgrimages, which is considered a source of knowledge and the essence of Tibetan Buddhism. When people live together, in addition to having the same mind seeking Nirvana, rules are what allow them to live peacefully, rely on each other only when necessary, respect each other, and perform their duties according to their own duties. Time spent studying and praying is more valuable than any other activity. The intense faith overcomes the cold of the continuous snow. Life and death are common. If you spend enough time approaching the Buddha, the last thing you want is for vultures to tear off your naked body to use as a stepping stone to lead you to heaven, which is as high as the roof of the world. This Buddhist land is shining brightly with the light of Dharma amidst tens of thousands of monks. The largest monastery in the world is a place of life for those who believe in the aroma of Buddhism and the sound of fervent prayers is continuously echoing around this sacred place.
