The US presidential election is more than just a change of administration after another. It could represent a turning point comparable to what happened in American politics after the accession of FD Roosevelt or R. Reagan, of course in a different form. In the Kecy a politika podcast, we have so far discussed what impact the election of Donald Trump will have on the war in Ukraine, on cooperation with China, or on international relations. This time, economist Lenka Zlámalová and I are trying to outline what impact the introduction of tariffs could have on the global economy, whether Trump is bluffing or really wants to tighten trade ties with Canada and Mexico, why illegal migration is such a problem, how the relationship with China will escalate, and most importantly: how the election of the new US president will affect trade relations with Germany and, by extension, the Czech Republic. Will the new US president get along with the new likely Chancellor Merz? Will Trump manage to lure top European companies to the US? And perhaps the most important moment: will the Trump factor awaken the over-bureaucratized European Union to deregulation and simplify the business environment? Kecy a politika is a podcast by commentator Bohumil Pečinka and Petros Michopoulos, a man who has been involved in marketing and politics for a quarter of a century. Current politics through the eyes of two different personalities who are not afraid to express their opinions.
