The Pinail National Nature Reserve, between Poitiers and Châtellerault, is a site at the crossroads of natural and cultural heritage. This magical place, which has now become a haven of peace for fauna and flora, was first the largest millstone quarry in the world! This explains the presence of the 6,000 ponds that make up the astonishing landscape of the Pinail National Nature Reserve. Kevin Lelarge and Yann Sellier guide Eric through the riches of this space where nature has reclaimed its rights. 2,700 different species coexist in these wetlands. Birds, butterflies, dragonflies, frogs, crayfish, snakes, but also mushrooms, orchids, not to mention four nationally protected plants. The Pinail reserve is like an island in the middle of a forest ocean. With 6,900 hectares, the Moulière forest is the green lung of the department. It is the writer and naturalist, Michel Granger, author of "Moulière, la forêt des pierres", who tells us the rich history of this forest massif. To explore the Poitevin landscapes differently, Eric embarks on a kayak, in the company of Thierry Le Bonniec, in order to navigate on the Clain. A small river 125 kilometers long which, before flowing into the Vienne, crosses the department from north to south. To end these escapades in the Vienne, Eric meets two sylvotherapy practitioners, Bellinda and François Biget, who will introduce him to forest bathing. They are today the only ones in the department to offer this approach, almost unknown in France, but very widespread in Japan. Another way of understanding trees and the nature that surrounds us.
