This year, from July 16 to 24, I was on a mountain hike (difficulty category 2 or 3). I completed the Elbrus World Race route with minor changes, adding one pass to the route (I really wanted to see the western shoulder of Elbrus). And now in order. The route: Day 1: Dzhily-Su tract, Irakhisyrt tract, overnight stay before crossing the Kyzylkol River Day 2: Kyzylkol River, Balk-Bashi Pass 3695 num (1a), Dzhily-Su Karachay-Cherkessia, former Emergencies Ministry base, overnight stay on the bank of the Bityuktyubekol River Day 3: rest day (intermittent rain all day) Day 4: Bityuktyubekol River, Koltsevoy Pass 3353 num (1a), Ullu-Khurzuk River valley, camp and overnight stay in a sheepfold. Day 5: Ullu-Khurzuk River Valley, Khurzuk village, post office (charging equipment), transfer to Voroshilovskiye koshi by locals, source of the Kuban River Day 6: source of the Kuban River, Khotyutau Pass 3546num (1b), Bolshoy Azau glacier, Lake Elbrus Day 7: Lake Elbrus, Elbrus village, half a day Day 8: Elbrus village, Verkhniy Baksan, Kyrtyk River Valley, Ostrovok campsite Day 9: Ostrovok campsite, Kyrtykaush Pass 3242num, Northern Karakai Pass 2889num, Dzhily-Su tract (end and beginning of the route) Result: I walked somewhere around 130-140 km, 5 passes and one glacier, completely closed the ring around Elbrus. The route was alone and in autonomous mode with two drops to the post office of the village of Khurzuk and the village of Elbrus. It was not easy, but not very difficult either. It was incredibly beautiful, no photo or video will convey what I saw with my own eyes. Difficulties: In the head (mentally prepare yourself for this) Weather (thunderstorm and rain) Relative height of passes and climbs (on the 4th day the body acclimatizes and the altitude is not felt) If you keep one pace, then everything goes easily.
