A ride in one of the 9 used Solaris hybrids brought in this year by MPK Kraków with agglomeration lines in mind and with residents in mind, of course xD. They were manufactured in 2014 for the Norwegian company Tide ASA servicing lines in the Oslo district. In 2017, these buses were withdrawn from service. First, a tester appeared with us for a few weeks - BH100 (now BH403). Then a tender was announced for the purchase of such used vehicles. The hybrids were divided between the Wola Duchacka (5 units) and Bieńczyce (4 units) depots. Visually, they look quite nice. Personally, I liked the paint job. The buses were equipped with very comfortable seats with headrests. The upholstery probably has some rich message, but I will not pursue the subject now :p. The most distinguishing feature of the bus, however, is the number of entrances. A two-door MAXI class bus for our city is not a very good solution. I have already had the opportunity to push through the crowd to the second door in such a hybrid - a massacre. In my opinion, this is a huge disadvantage of the vehicle, but the used buses attracted people with their low price. The bus is almost a meter longer than the standard Urbino. This allows more people to enter, but a third door would be useful to be able to quickly accept and unload these people. The vehicles are even interesting in terms of sound, but you can hear unpleasant vibrations in the drive. They were equipped with an automatic Eaton gearbox, which is why the vehicle cuts off the gas when changing gears and gives the impression of a manual. In general, these hybrids came to us in June, but it turned out that they were in such a condition that they needed to have the bodywork and the engines repaired. They were finally put into service in mid-September. An interesting fact is that these buses are not equipped with a warm button. The driver has to open the door at every stop. Another interesting fact is the presence of seat belts in the seats - an innovation in our fleet. The fact that the used buses were equipped with probably the best internal speakers in the company deserves praise. The sound quality is great. In general, I rate hybrids as average. I don't like the number of entries and the condition of the engines, but I praise them for the seats and sounds. You can share your impressions of these vehicles in the comments.
