Hermes is running ten articulated trolleybuses of the Solaris Trollino 18 Metrostyle type via Breng in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region. These articulated trolleybuses in ComfortRRReis livery can transport up to 120 people, of whom 44 passengers can sit. The trolleybuses can run on power from the overhead line as well as on batteries. These batteries are charged while driving with the overhead line. Solaris built these ten articulated trolleybuses in 2023 and 2024 for Hermes. The first arrived in Arnhem at the beginning of January 2024. Since then, they have all arrived one by one by trailer from Poland, where the buses are built. After many instructional rides, these trolleybuses have actually been running on scheduled service since 12 May. The line they run on is line 352. This runs from Arnhem Velperplein and Willemsplein to Arnhem Central Station. From there, the bus runs via the Utrechtseweg to Oosterbeek. At the d'Oude Herbergh stop in Oosterbeek, the overhead line for the trolley bus ends. The pantographs of the Solaris bus have to be lowered there, this happens without the driver having to get out. The bus has then driven 6.5 kilometers under the overhead line. The bus then drives via the villages of Doorwerth, Heelsum and Renkum to Wageningen. The bus then travels 11.5 kilometers on the batteries. Speeds of 80 kilometers per hour are reached on the provincial roads. At the bus station in Wageningen, the bus turns around and drives back to the Velperplein in Arnhem. The buses are numbered in the series 5275 to 5284. The buses are from Hermes, a subsidiary of Connexxion/Transdev. At Hermes, the buses operate under the brand name Breng. They operate them in the ComfortRRReis color scheme. ComfortRRReis is the more luxurious version of the RRReis formula. All buses and trains in the provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel and Flevoland must eventually carry the RRReis formula. For example, all trolley buses in Arnhem must also get the RRReis colour scheme. This has led to commotion, so the blue colour scheme will disappear from the trolley buses. Since the establishment of the trolley network in Arnhem, the buses have been blue. Here are some pictures of the buses: https://busposities.nl/fotos/stadsbus...
