VILLA GADE FARM (FORMERLY SÃO BENTO FARM) Morungaba - SP #farm373 1850 19th century farm, from the period between 1850 and 1860 when coffee cultivation became strong in the Morungaba region. Preserved and restored barn, contemplating the two periods of slavery and the period of immigrant colonization, with a part of the barn with a larger structure, larger, higher stones, wider walls made by slave labor, and another adjoining part of smaller size, smaller and lighter stones made by immigrant labor. In 1920, the barn received an English coffee machine, which was already in the immigrant period. The barn has preserved the inscriptions on the walls recorded at the time of coffee production, the original beams and floor made of peroba rosa wood. The original 1850 headquarters, the slave quarters and the settlers' houses fell over time and another headquarters was built in the 20th century. The farm preserves the original structure of the chapel, the chapel, coffee terraces and centuries-old coffee trees. The farm is located near the old Mogiana railway that transported coffee to the port of Santos. It is believed that Pedro Elias de Godoy was the founder of the farm, but no record of this has been found, only inscriptions on the walls of the barn. João Elias Filho, Pedro Elias' son, continued coffee production on the farm. Later, it was passed on as an inheritance to Francisco Elias de Godoy Moreira.
