As a knife maker, you have to harden your blades somehow. The best way to do it yourself is with the means at hand. In this video, we show you instructions on how a new knife maker with no start-up capital can harden carbon steel knife blades to over 60 Rockwell hardness, easily and without a hardening furnace. Using simple means, we heat the blade to hardening temperature in a kettle grill and quench it in oil. After that, the blade obviously still has to be tempered. The quick quenching in rapeseed oil or hardening oil hardens the steel in the knife. If you don't need too precise results, but just want to get into the topic of knife making, hardening knives and hard knife blades, this is a great way to start and gain experience. ►►► Important note ◄◄◄ We bought the products shown in the video ourselves and/or were not paid for the positive representation!
