On Sunday afternoon, October 15, 2023, 36 shooting clubs and shooting guilds from home and abroad marched through the center of Sittard. A total of around 1600 uniformed participants took part. 7 of the 10 shooting clubs from the municipality of Sittard-Geleen participated in the procession: Sint Rosa Zitterd, Sint Salvius Limbricht, HH Marcellinus and Petrus Oud-Geleen, Eendracht Grevenbicht, Sint Lambertus Broeksittard, Sint Joseph Buchten and Sint Martinus Born. It was chilly (normal temperature for the time of year, by the way) and the rain radar predicted an occasional shower. As a result, the first part of the route was less busy than usual, but as the procession progressed towards the Markt, it became traditionally busy again in the narrow streets of the city center. And the shooting ranges were also very busy early on. Just like in previous years, access to the Boels Rental pavilion closed early in the afternoon because the tent was packed.
