Self-conscious emotions - unlike basic emotions such as joy, fear or disgust - appear quite late in human life and engage complex psychological mechanisms. Self-conscious emotions also include shame and guilt. We often confuse them, which is why we do not know which of these emotions we are currently feeling. It is worth knowing and understanding when and how a given emotion appears. People differ in their tendency to experience them - some are ashamed or have a sense of guilt more often, and others less often, and this has major consequences for personality development. During the presentation, the mechanism of their formation and the results of original research on this issue will be presented.
