At around 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon, masked elite police officers from the special operations command (SEK) stormed a building on Wuppertaler Strasse in Solingen. Other masked, heavily armed officers from the evidence securing and arrest unit secured the building from the outside. Residents reported that they heard a loud bang, and then the whole street was full of masked police officers. An apartment on the top floor of a building was searched. The private club on the ground floor, which is known as a brothel, was not one of the premises searched. According to further information, the search was aimed at a tenant in the top floor of the building. According to initial information from a police press officer, the operation was related to drug-related crime. The exact location of the measures was not yet disclosed.
