The tutorials are intended in particular to support researchers in their first steps on the way from invention to company founding. They also offer useful information to employees of the transfer offices of research institutions. The first video introduces the topics of "intellectual property" and the basics of patent research. You will learn what IP is, how a patent application works and how patent documents are structured. You will also find out what reasons there are for researching patent literature. In the second and third videos we will then show you how you can conduct a patent search using different tools. The series is supplemented by an introduction to the basics of the new EU unitary patent. The information in these tutorials represents training material and is not a substitute for legal advice.
