■ Dr. Jeong Woon-ho / Korea Institute of Energy Research [Anchor] Hydrogen is an eco-friendly energy source that will bring about the decarbonization era. There is a scientist who says that in order to achieve true carbon neutrality, we must study so-called green hydrogen, or ammonia hydrogen decomposition technology, which does not generate carbon in the process of producing hydrogen. Today, we are with Dr. Jeong Woon-ho from the Hydrogen Research Group at the Korea Institute of Energy Research. Welcome. [Interview] Hello. [Anchor] I heard that you have developed a technology to produce hydrogen from ammonia. First, please explain how hydrogen has been produced so far. [Interview] Yes, hydrogen is an odorless and colorless gas like nitrogen and oxygen that make up the air. It is a common substance that accounts for more than 70% of the mass of the universe. There are three main ways to produce hydrogen. The most representative method is to use by-product hydrogen produced during the petrochemical process. Simply put, this is a method of obtaining hydrogen from by-products left over after naphtha is decomposed in an oil refinery to produce gasoline, diesel, etc. #Eco-friendly #Ammonia #Hydrogen [YTN Science article] https://science.ytn.co.kr/program/pro...
