This Sunday, Boa Sorte Viajante visited the state of Minas Gerais to see the sources of the São Francisco River, a recording trip that took place in the municipalities of São Roque de Minas and Medeiros. But did you know that the Velho Chico has two sources? If you haven't yet, I'm sure you'll be surprised by the stories of this region. ????❤ Our first stop is the municipality of São Roque de Minas, 320 km from its capital, Belo Horizonte, which stands out for being one of the gateways to the Serra da Canastra National Park and home to the historic source of the São Francisco River. The people responsible for accompanying Matheus and his team were the tour guide Welder and the researcher Dirceu, who told us about the importance of the Serra for the country's water supply. Not far from the historic spring, formed by a waterfall of about 186 meters in height, is the Casca d'Anta Waterfall, the largest along the course of the São Francisco, and can be accessed via trails. Continuing our journey, we arrived at the municipality of Medeiros, located only 55 km from São Roque, to visit the source of the Samburá River, which since 2002 has also been considered the geographical source of the São Francisco. Accompanied by local resident Jorge and technician Alberto, we discovered that the Samburá is no longer considered just a tributary of the São Francisco, but rather the origin of the river itself, due to its hydrographic characteristics. #SãoFrancisco #VelhoChico #SerraDaCanastra ===================== WHO IS MATHEUS BOA SORTE? I am passionate about the cultural traditions of the Brazilian Northeast. To be more specific, of the backlands, which I believe is much more than a corner of Brazil with little rain. For me, the backlands are feelings, states of mind, of those who carry within themselves a smile, faith, persistence, courage and a little bit of mischief. I am an advertising professional by academic training, and I pay my bills through art. I am a singer, composer, writer, speaker, educator, actor, TV host, radio host... A lot, right? But I can sum it all up in just one job: I AM A STORYTELLER.
