Welcome to another video here on our channel! When installing a star-delta starter, there are two main mistakes, known to many electricians, and which we will explain to you today, so that you do not make any more mistakes. The first mistake is starting the motor with a load. As we know, the main advantage of star-delta starting is that it reduces the starting current by ⅓ of the direct starting current. This helps to avoid current spikes that can damage the motor or overload the electrical grid. However, the disadvantage is that it is not ideal for motors that require high starting torque or for those that operate at variable loads, since this torque also drops to ⅓. In more popular terms, I end up “weakening” my motor, since it is closed to a higher voltage, and being powered by a lower voltage. The second error, and no less important, is closing this starter. Contrary to what many people think, there is, in fact, an order for the six motor terminals to be connected. Often these terminals are reversed when they reach the terminals on the panel, preventing the starter from operating at full efficiency. The consequence of this, when the machine switches from star to delta, is that the motor stops, or there is excessive vibration. To understand this better, we bring you closer to the bench, for another great lesson from the Ambassador. And if you want to learn from someone who teaches what he lives, stay tuned so you don't miss any details, because today's video is unmissable! #embaixadordecomandosengehall
