Rowy - a magical place to relax: A stroll through the idyllic streets Rowy is a small summer village on the Baltic Sea on the Slovinian Coast. It is located between Łeba and Ustka. It is primarily a seaside town, but it is not the only body of water. Rowy is also located on Lake Gardno. The town is a bit like the Hel Peninsula. It is also a strip of land limited on two sides by water - from the north it is the Baltic Sea and from the south it is a lake. Rowy is one of the few seaside towns with such a rich history. The first information about the existence of this settlement dates back to 1282. Many archaeological finds have also been discovered here, which proved that this village was inhabited by tribes in the prehistoric period. The village developed greatly and a church was built here in the 14th century. Unfortunately, it has not survived, but in 1849 a second one was built, which has survived to this day and is a great monument. It is a building built in the neo-Romanesque style and has become a symbol of this town. The church of Saint Peter and Paul is not the only monument in Rowy. In addition to it, you can visit the cemetery hill, which served as a cemetery until the mid-20th century. It was liquidated only after the war, but to this day there are many tombstones and interesting places worth visiting. Not only residents were buried there, but also many sailors who wrecked their ships in the surrounding waters. According to historians, in the period 1796-1936, as many as 25 ships and sailing ships were wrecked in the waters near Rowy. The main advantage of this town is its natural aspects. The town is located among pine forests, thanks to which there is a unique microclimate here. The Baltic Sea and Lake Gardno allow for a peaceful rest, and the presence of the Słowiński National Park very close allows for active time spending and seeing unique places in this area. The National Park stretches for about 37 kilometers between Łeba and Rowy. Tourists appreciate the fact that the Baltic Sea is not the only body of water here. In addition to it, in the southern part of the city there is the large Lake Gardno - the second largest coastal lake in Poland. The lake is safe, because the maximum depth is about 2.6 meters. The beautiful landscape and clean air will make spending time by the lake very pleasant. The beaches are also quite popular, the water here is much warmer than in the Baltic Sea and in addition safer and calmer. One day a boat sailed to Rowy from which a man and a woman emerged. They woke up the pastor and forced him to marry them. This couple came from Sweden and according to legend it was the King of Sweden himself - Gustav Adolf. It is a romantic symbol of love. We will encounter this story in many places in Rowy. The second legend concerns the neo-Romanesque church from the mid-19th century. It says that the temple is the work of the devil, who visited the local pastor and deceived him. He sold his soul to him and signed a pact with the devil, which is why the temple was considered the work of Satan. Rowy is a small town with only 360 inhabitants. However, thanks to thousands of tourists who willingly come to this place, the accommodation base is developing very well. Today, in Rowy there are many holiday resorts, cottages for rent, guesthouses and even a very popular hotel with a spa. Bałtycka and Słoneczna streets are two streets, the most popular places in Rowy. 00:00 Intro 00:20 Rowy #rowy #summer #town
