Another great advantage is the speed with which the roof is completed and without generating a lot of waste and debris. This tile also has a wide variety of colors and inclinations, and can even be at 90 degrees, that is, it can be installed on the wall. This advantage allows you to have a higher roof and perhaps even gain an attic in your house. Shingle roofs are very resistant. We can walk on them to perform maintenance without fear of breaking tiles. They are also very resistant to roof damage, as there are tiles that can withstand winds of up to 200 km/h and, if they are installed correctly, you will not have any problems with leaks. Despite being an asphalt material, these tiles are not difficult to keep clean. Some manufacturers even call them self-cleaning tiles. This tile is very versatile as it can easily adapt to modern homes and classic facades. Now, HOW TO MAKE A SHINGLE ROOF? Let's go step by step: First, we make the roof structure with rafters spaced 60 cm apart to optimize the next step, which is the installation of the OSB boards. Next comes the underlayment, the edge profile, then the placement of the tiles with nails and finally, we make the ventilated ridge, where hot air escapes and prevents condensation and humidity on your roof, in addition to preventing your home from overheating. The downside of these tiles is that, since they are not very common in Brazil, we have difficulty finding specialized labor. Another disadvantage is that, since they are made of asphalt, they have components that are not very environmentally friendly. Another disadvantage is that if you do not follow the correct installation method, you can have serious thermal insulation problems. However, you can make a plasterboard lining with insulating material on top, which will help a lot. Finally, a major disadvantage of this roof is the price, as it can be much more expensive than ceramic tiles.
