In this video I will show how I was able to make the roof lathing and lay the membrane waterproofing, roof lathing for metal tiles with my own hands, in detail, all stages. After I sheathed the walls with OSB sheets from the outside, I began to make the roof lathing. First, I prepared all the necessary building materials, dragged the boards to the second floor and cleaned them from wane. Then I laid out 40x50 mm bars, measured a distance of 20 centimeters less than the width of the membrane and sawed them with a circular saw. I glued a sealing tape to the bars, which is used for gluing metal profiles. I started installing the frontal board, screwed screws into the rafters to the width of the board, on which I put the board, and screwed 2 galvanized screws into each leg of the rafter. The next step was to install the drip cap, to which the Diffusion Hydro-Windproof Vapor-Permeable Membrane will be glued. I attached the drip cap with screws, having previously punched a hole with a hammer. I planed the rafters flush with the frontal board. I glued special double-sided tape to the drip cap, which has very good adhesion to membranes and various films. For an insulated roof on the cold side, you need to use the Diffusion Hydro-Windproof Vapor-Permeable Membrane. I advise you to carefully study this issue because using the right material in the ceiling and wall pie is very important. It turned out to be not so difficult to install the membrane, I rolled out the beginning of the roll and attached it with staples to the rafters in several places, glued one edge to the drip cap, and nailed the counter-batten beam using 120 mm nails. I prepared for this stage for a very long time because it is very important and I did not want to screw up. Next, I installed the sheathing, marking the places on the counter beam, made the step between the boards 200 mm, under the sheathing of the roofing corrugated sheet, nailed it with 120 mm nails so that the nail pierced the counter beam and went into the rafter. At this stage, I got tired of hammering nails! The entire roof took 20 kg of 120x nails, which is about 1,700 pieces. I lifted all the necessary material to the top before tightening everything with a membrane. Tightened the remaining part with a membrane and continued to nail the counter beam and sheathing. The sheathing must be joined on different rafters. To make it safer to climb onto the roof, I left a small manhole, and when I sheathed the finished part with roofing, I used a ladder to climb. I measured the diagonals on the sheathing, marked the overhang with a thread and sawed it off with a circular saw. In the next episode I will show the installation of a drainage system, thanks for watching! Subscribe to the channel if you are interested in my videos!
