A biosphere reserve, the Rodnei Mountains National Park showcases the highest peaks in the Eastern Carpathians. In terms of size, it is the second national park and stands out for the glacial relief often found in this mountain range, with no less than 67 glacial lakes. Also, the flora is rich and varied, and we can mention here some examples: the cornflower, the mountain peony, the daffodils from Mount Saca, etc. Our blue cross route (the eastern limit of the park) starts from the Alpina Blazna Complex (1100 m a.s.l.), and passes by the peaks of Stăniştea (1478 m a.s.l.), Cobăşel (1835 m) and the 2113 m Vârful Roşu, with one last point. Route length: approx. 13 km Difference in level: approx. 1100 m The time is relative depending on the walking pace and breaks. We did 8 hours altogether.
