In recent years, Saxony has seen an increasing influx of right-wing extremists and their families. Many originally come from West Germany and have had a long career in the extreme right scene. Now they are settling in rural regions. In addition, they are recruiting new, ethnically minded settler families, particularly on Telegram, under the label "Initiative Zusammenrücken". They offer to make it easier for new settlers to move, find jobs and settle in new communities - and advertise political networking. In doing so, they use racist arguments and right-wing extremist ideologies. In their view, the "German people" in West Germany are facing extinction because the "species preservation" of the German people is threatened. The solution: Settle in rural regions with a predominantly white population.
