In 2023, the Ge 4/4 II will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Four machines from the first series will probably be retired at the end of 2023, but the locomotives of the 2nd series are equipped with dual brakes and ZSI 127. The video shows locomotives 621, 627, 630 and 623 from the 2nd delivery series. BUT: The use of the Ge 4/4 II with the standard carriages is over. Standard carriage 1 has almost all been scrapped/sold/shelved. All REs will be converted to multiple units from December 2023. But the film still shows the REs with Ge 4/4 II and the standard carriages that have been known for many years. A special chapter is devoted to the brake lines of the Ge 4/4 II. Over the years, this has been continually expanded - now all locomotives of the second series have been retrofitted with the dual brake and can therefore also pull Alvra trains.
